Myota Ransomware Protection

What mechanisms does Myota employ to protect data from ransomware attacks?

Your data is safeguarded against ransomware through Myota's patented Shred (data sharding process) and Spread process, implemented in both object storage and file storage platforms.

In the event of unauthorized access to data shards by a malicious actor, any modified shards are promptly eliminated from the overall topology, effectively countering ransomware attacks.

Furthermore, the data shards themselves lack complete information for any potential reconstruction, serving as an additional layer of defense against ransomware. The compromised storage location, involving a minimum of four object storage locations, is completely removed from the topology. Subsequently, a new object storage location is generated, incorporating shards reconstructed from the remaining trusted locations.

To enhance security measures, Myota also employs behavioral ransomware protection for file storage detection, aligning with the MITRE framework. This approach prevents further compromise and facilitates full recovery, when necessary, from the original trusted data.
